I replaced an old Jotel stove with this QF 4300. I admit, it took a lot of trial and error learning how to operate it correctly. But, I burned less than half of the wood I would burn in the jotel. Thank God we purchased the blower with it. It wouldn't heat much without the blower. 5 stars.Overall Performance:

I have had the same 4300 step top Quadrafire for 16 years. The only reason it would run poorly is if you don't know what your doing... Open the door to burn you will over-fire it... green / wet wood will never give heat of burn correctly... Normal maint. required with this much use, I heat 2500 Sq. ft. does great on most days unless windy and 10 degrees. The listed comments are from people who do ...Overall Performance:

Bought the step 4300 in 1999. Start it in October and let it go out in March. We use this the supplement the heat on a 2000 SQ. Foot split level house in Minnesota. This will roast us out of the house if we use one year dried oak on a ten degree day. We have to mix the wood and starve it for air to keep from getting too warm. This is the perfect stove if you know how to cut wood, season ...Overall Performance:

I've burned wood for over 6 decades. It is a skill, not a given. You buy the stove, but must develop the skill, it's on you!... These negative reviews, I'm sure they are doing something wrong. Yes, you can overfire a stove in a heartbeat. Burn time depends on wood size, moisture, and quality. My stove never goes out from early winter till late spring. I burn super chunky oak and beech 18 ...Overall Performance:

Don't believe the lifetime warranty! Our stove had cracks all over inside the firebox and the overhead pipes sagged. We never let the stove get over 500 degrees. The company said we over fired the stove and wouldn't cover anything. I've heard other people had same problem. DON't buy a Quadrafire!Overall Performance:

Purchased a Quadra-Fire last year was told by the sale people that it would heat up my room and more, I have found the only way of keeping the fire going is to leave the door open, you have to sacrifice a lot of wood before the fire finally stays alight. Does not throw out much heat very disappointing. Also the top of the unit started to rust. Had major problems with getting anyone to come out ...Overall Performance:

My parents installed a 4300 series Quadra-Fire wood burner in our family room several years ago, replacing a pittston stoves pot bellied wood/coal burning stove, and I feel as though we are definitely burning more wood, with less results. . The convection stones inside have all busted and came out with the ashes during cleaning, and the top has started rusting disturbingly fast. It is ...Overall Performance:

hi all. I bought a Quadrature 4300 last July and had it installed same month. Used for a few months, loved having a fireplace but --- in February, noticed a strange appearance about it and guess what!! RUSTING all over the top, the back, the front door and the feet. Not the sides, that is a different material. Now trying to get my warrantly in Queensland, Australia and the agent here, ...Overall Performance:

We replaced a 30 year old Frontier step top with the Quadrafire 4300. This is our fourth season using this stove. To say we are displeased with the 4300 would be an understatement. Unfortunately, we found that all the sales hype regarding this stove was just that, hype. We realize this is a dealer issue and not Quardafire, but the 4300 burns more wood and generates less heat than our old ...Overall Performance:

Disclaimer: I sell these stoves (a sales rep for this product). But I also burn them in the showroom at work. I'm not here to tout how great they are, since none of you reading this will likely be a customer of mine - so this is my objective viewpoint. This stove puts out quite a bit of heat. Our building is poorly insulated with high cielings and lots of windows. We are in zone 3. It heats ...Overall Performance:

Bought the stove a few weeks ago, it burns wood like there is no tomorrow, very little heat., does not burn overnight have to start fresh each day. I have a Lopi Endeavor in my workshop it is twice the stove and less money. Never will I buy a product from Quadra-Fire again.Overall Performance:

I replaced a 3100 with this new 4300 and put the 3100 in a rental. Bottom line, it puts out more heat for sure. 2000 sq feet on that level. With the older cast iron 3100 it took an hour to warm up the stove and then would heat the room seven degrees an hour. This new stove can do 10 degrees an hour with only a 15 minute warm up time. The 3100 lasted much longer. I added a thermostatic switch ...Overall Performance:

we have owned our QF 4300 step top 3 years. It burns cleaner than 2 other stoves we've owned. I have had a country comfort and a pacific energy the pacific stove was excellent, no mechanicals other than replacing rope gasket when neccesarry. Mechanical issues with Qf4300 are as follows: ash door would not close properly; baffle in fire box cracked, the dealer in our area was notified of these ...
