Review: American Energy Systems Magnum Countryside
American Energy Systems Magnum Countryside
I purchased my Countryside Magnum in 2003. It has been my only heat source ever since. I burn corn. Usually run it on level 2 unless it is extremely cold outside (1500 sq/ft home). On level 2, it burns about 1 bushel of corn a day.
I'm probably on my 4th stirrer rod, and this one is on it's way out also. Firepot has been repaired (welded) once, it is about due for replacement. All motors and fans and switches are original and trouble free so far.
Stove can make noise when clinkers form in the firebox. You have to be a student of this stove to learn how much draft it likes at different speeds. If you get it wrong, the stove will go out in a few hours. If you get it right, it will keep burning for days.
Has not been a bad stove for me, but I'll research hard before making another purchase.
