Review: Quadra-Fire 4300 Millennium
Quadra-Fire 4300 series
My parents installed a 4300 series Quadra-Fire wood burner in our family room several years ago, replacing a pittston stoves pot bellied wood/coal burning stove, and I feel as though we are definitely burning more wood, with less results. . The convection stones inside have all busted and came out with the ashes during cleaning, and the top has started rusting disturbingly fast. It is completely sealed off from the outer elements, therefore has no reason to be rusting at all. While burning, the air in our house becomes so dry that there is absolutely 0 moisture present, so that can't be the reason either.. and yes, overnight it will stay lit, and it will burn thru whatever you put in, but 11+ hours? Try maybe 6-8 hrs, but don't expect any heat out of it while dampered down like that. Unless this thing is completely dampered, with the air flow maxed out, it barely performs as well as advertised, and I'm clear cutting sections of woods behind my house just feeding this contraption.
