Review: St. Croix Lancaster
St. Croix Lancaster
Once you are able to get the information you need to properly maintain the stove it heats beyond its expected capacity. The most common problems with the stove is it becomes difficult to keep the fire from going out. This is caused by ash that is blocking air chambers that are not mentioned In the maintenance manual. To the left and right of the burn pot on the brick wall are two metal round metal plugs that must be removed and vacuumed through about 2 feet of chambers that build up with ash in the stove. This is one piece of undocumented but very necessary information needed to keep a stove running. If you do hire a person to do work on your stove, make sure they remove the room fan and clean it with compressed air. It is very difficult to get to in many installations, but it is the fan that circulates heat throughout the room and the home. I love having a fire burning in my home, but it is not for people who are not DIYers.
