Review: St. Croix Lancaster
St. Croix Lancaster
Ive had my Lancaster 3 years I bought it used...I see all sorts of negative reviews on here ...many with the same ash plug issues...
Lucky I have a local dealer who was kind enough to tell me about the hidden areas to clean...
First I clean the chimney with a brush and vacume once a season...
Two....after every 30 bags I vacume out the stove...and get all the soot out of the inside...pull the trap door covers and suck all the ash out....I use a 2 ft piece of 3/8 spring " for a screen door closer " too snake up the ash trap and knock all the ash out...
...I pull the fire pot and clean all the holes once a season...
And beside the pot on both side are little metal plugs...pop them out with a flat screwdriver....and use your piece of spring....lots of ash in here....
This is why many of your stoves go out...and won't stay going...these plugs go threw the stove almost 2 feet....clean them well...
I love this stove....with once a season proper cleaning it runs like a champ
