Review: Jotul F 3 CB
Jotul F 3 CB
I just got an 1983 model 3 Jotul to replace my larger VT Castings Vigilant. I also placed an expensive, high-end thermometer on the stove pipe after I installed it. At full tilt, I max out at 230 degrees going out the pipe; which beat the VT Castings, given it would get out of control and require babysitting. On top of that, I burn about a 1/3 less wood. Great buy for $800, in ivory white. I liked the draft feature at the top. I was skeptical at first considering the stove is about half the size of the older VT Castings. However, it produces the same heat, and when its super cold out (VT winters) I have a 118 in the basement to keep us toasty. 2 out of 3 of our wood stoves are Jotuls. These stoves have surpassed my expectations.
