Quadra-Fire Classic Bay 1200
The Classic Bay 1200 features a large ash drawer and an 80 pound pellet hopper, which provides enough fuel for up to 40 continuous hours of operation. With an adjustable convection blower, heat dissipation can be moderated to get the most out of the stove's rated heat output of 15,000 to 40,000 BTUs.
The stove provides automatic ignition and the capability for thermostat control and is rated to heat up to a 2500 square feet area. A multi-fuel stove, the Classic Bay will burn either wood pellets or shelled corn.

I bought this three years ago. The first one wouldn't run past 1 day so after contacting owner of business they brought me another one. !0 days after warranty ran out on exhaust fan the bearing went out they wanted 500.00 to fix it and it would take a month before they could come. Then 20 days after warranty on firepot ran out the firepot rusted or burnt out...part alone is 400.00 I have had ...Overall Performance:

purchased in 2015 from Kring's Home and Hearth...first insert installed had to be immediately replaced by the dealer because "It couldn't be fixed !" Second unit is nothing but problems, and the dealer is useless... it is nearly rusted out, soon to be dangerous to operate (after one season!), it shuts off randomly... why can't the service tech plug a data logger into the PLC to find out what is ...Overall Performance:

Most complaints about this store stem from issues that aren’t the stoves fault. All pellet stoves need maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. You also need to keep the stove dry. The quality of the pellet greatly affects performance and protecting it with a surge protector is as essential as with any other electronic device. If you do all of this, it can last you 15-20 years ...Overall Performance:

Poor product, and worse service!! I purchased a quadrafire 1200 pellet stove on the 9 of Dec 2016.The 2nd of January it quit working. The first time when I called they told me to look at the fuse, so I took the covers off to get to the fuse. It was blown, I made a 100 mile round trip to get the fuse from the place I bought from I wanted to make sure I got exactly the right fuse and talk to them ...Overall Performance:

Do not buy this stove. Per the manufacturer it is "normal" for the blower to not come on for 40 minutes, but their literature states up to 20 minutes. That does nothing but burn pellets. But that is not the only reason. My stove was installed last month - lo and behold I stopped using it and went back to oil for several weeks. Why? because it did not even heat the downstairs of my 1,900 ...Overall Performance:

One of these reviews used the term finicky and that's very accurate for this unit. I inherited my Classic Bay 1200 from someone and it was a 1999 model year unit that had been very lightly used. I've only used it for one winter so far and probably burned about 2 tons of pellets. I recently had to replace the control board and that seems to have cured the intermittent starting issues I was ...Overall Performance:

We purchased a Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200, not impressed, the heat output is not even close to what they claim. and the hopper is not an 80 lb. we have tried with 3 different brand and size of pellets and there is no way to put more than 65 lbs in the hopper. I am on my 8th winter season using the CB1200 and use about 2.5 tons of pellets every winter. This year for the first time I started having problems with the fire going out while it was running. The motor shaft set screw to the auger came loose and was causing the intermittent loss of flame . Other than that the CB1200 has been bullet proof. The cons to this unit is that it is the fan is loud ...Overall Performance:

I bought my stove in 2008 and it has worked fine. I keep it clean, sweep the chimney every year and give it a good cleaning. When I stopped using it in the spring, it was working fine. After 3 years of use I have replaced the auger motor, convection blower motor and exhaust blower motor. Customer service is a complete joke. Its not a quality issue its a user issue they say. I have had this stove for 7 yrs. It has heated my 1700 sq-ft home thru 7 winters. It was professionally installed and. vented properly. I purchased this stove 1.5 yrs. ago and it has been a huge disappointment. Already replaced the auger motor and it still continues to jam frequently. Poor, poor design on the auger. I am on my 5th season and have only replaced one fuse, due to a very bad storm during which the fuse did its job of protecting the circuit board. Everything else is working well. I bought my Quadra-fire classic bay insert pellet stove November of 2010. After 20 plus years of the old Whitfield, this stove is a dream so far.
