This is the second winter I have used this stove. I really like the looks. However, there are several problems. Fist the cook surface is very small. Not many pans will fit. It is hard to keep it from smoking. Every time you open the door, you will get smoke. The book say that you have to let the coals burn out before empting the ashes. That means you go without heat for a couple of days. ...

I am very happy with Pacific Energy Alderlea. It’s been with me for three years already and up until now, it is still working efficiently. It is the best stove I have ever had. I bought it at a very reasonable price too. This stove is indeed a blessing to me. No, it’s my best buddy during cold days and it never gave me headaches when it comes to operating it.

The unit was installed professionally in a new 420 sq foot building in northern Minnesota. We love the design and the performance. The door squealed when opened or closed; but, after I applied a little bearing grease, it squealed no more. The building takes 6 hours to raise the temperature from the teens to a comfortable 70 degrees F. Once it gets to the desired temp, it has no trouble ...

Documentation is terrible. Can't find the combustion air vent. The ash cleanout opening is minuscule. Can't open the door without smoke blowing into the room. The fire box is too small and too low. It's almost impossible to reload without nicking a hot surface. Firebricks become dislodged every time I clean out the ashes. Door makes a loud squealing sound every time I open it.

After much research we decided on the PE Alderlea T4 for our small 750 sq ft home. The house while small is not insulated very well and plus we have the stove in the enclosed porch area which has even less insulation. Our climate is mild but we do get cold snaps that can last several days. So far the little Alderlea can cook us out of the house with even a moderate fire. We damp down the fire now ...

I have owned my stove for 6 years but this is the first winter I have lived in the house a 1500 sq ft 2 story built on a windy hill in a windy province. It works like a charm and keeps the whole house warm and I have experienced -14c with high winds. The house is a recent build with icyene foam insulation and it stays warm with a lazy fire on calm days and a good fire on the colder ones. I ...

I have used wood stoves for much of my life and the ease of use is only moderate and very messy. Next stove I buy will have the ability to be loaded from the top. Though I use mainly locust or oak it seems slow to heat up. I had problems from the beginning. First closing or opening the door was very noisy, then the gasket came off after very little use. The ash door didn't close properly which ...

I have had an Alderlea T5 for 4 years now. We do not use is the soul heat of our house. I am glad that we do not have to. We have a lot of trouble with the ashes and cinders. The ashes and cinders pile up in the stove until we can hardly get any wood in the stove. How do you get them out? We have to stop using the stove every 3 or so days and let it cool down and dig the cinders out and ...

My wife and I couldn't be happier with our Alderlea T4. We have been heating our 2000' ranch on 2-3 cords a year for the past 4 years. I grew up with wood heat but this stove is a far cry from any other stove I have ever lived with. I believe that the outside air is a must in a modern well sealed house, but I think it would also be an advantage in an older house as well. The air wash really ...

Has no trouble heating my 1300 sqft ranch well even when its only -5 outside. Still works well with junk wood like cottonwood or red pine. This stove has cut my heating bills by at least 50% and the whole house is warm. The fan kit is a good call on this stove. I have used it for two winters now with no complaints.
