Grew up with wood heat and wanted it also in our 2400square foot two-story house, built in 1991, Okanagan, B.C. . Old windows that have broken seals, an unfinished basement and a set of stairs that divides the house make our brand new install a little iffy, as I was wondering if the heat would benefit us to the point that we could completely shut off our annoying furnace. Success! Didn't want to ...

We live in NW Arkansas out in the "sticks" and this an at times be our only heat. It has done well for the past 2 yers and holds up niely. We like it, load it completely up at 9ish and in the morning, reload and go at around 6. It was expensive but I guess it does the job we got it for.

All I can tell you is that I will never have another one. Neither will most people I know. Its very hard to start and smokes (not always) during lighting. Its design ensures that almost all the heat comes out of the glass and almost no heat from any of the sides. In fact you can touch the sides at anytime! The second burn does work half decent but not near as well as the 1/2 price Drolet I ...

As long as your wood is seasoned well.. this stove is great. Older stoves will ignite semi-seasoned wood a lot easier. It throws a lot of heat.. and hard wood will keep coals until morning when its loaded up and if the damper is off. Sometimes its hard to start unlike older stoves, and can get frusterating. I would recommend throwing a handful of wood pellets in a couple of times to help start ...

I bought this stove 3 months ago now and installed myself in my mini home. I had it wett certified by a licensed wett technician. I have to say this is a fantastic wood stove, it has exceeded my expectations. I was late to buy wood and could only two cords. Here we are almost 3 months later and I have a decent amount of wood still left, about 3/4 of a cord. This stove provides ample heat for my ...

I've only had this "big brother" to the TN19 for about a month but very happy with its overall performance: easy to light, easily controlled, produces lots of heat for our 1300 ft home, and easily holds a fire overnight. Being "mobile home approved" means it can be as close as 8" to the wall, so it would be good for smaller spaces too.

This is a simply amazing little stove! We are moving into our 4th winter with it. It heats our 1400 soft upstairs of our house with ease. I love the simple clean lines and no fuss functionality. I feel that the (optional) fresh air intake (from outside) really helps make a huge difference in reducing drafts and getting the most heat out of this stove. I like it so much I have considered ...

I'm so disappointed in this stove. I've burned wood forever and have had better luck with older cheaper stoves. Hard to start, have to keep flue open all the way or fire goes out. Leaves big chunks of charcoal instead of ashes like my others stoves. What a waste of money!

The best wood stove I have ever owned. Performs easily as good as many stoves costing twice the price. This the stove's third winter, and it is in an old 2400 ft2 (century) home. The True North is the right stove for the job. It replaced an older Vermont Castings Resolute and we now use 40% less wood per year and are warmer. The only reason I give it a 4/5 for ease-of-use is that it does not have ...

Heating 1,400 sf basement with stove and main level with what heat makes it upstairs. Stove is easy to operate, has a great airwash system. Doesn't have ash pan but those systems aren't always practical anyways. Very efficient stove as well and has a good secondary burn system. For the money you won't find a better stove. Lot's of BTU's for a relatively smaller stove. Use good wood and you can't ...

This stove punches way above its weight. It replaced an older, but much higher-end Vermont-Castings model and completely blew it away. Tonight it is -15degC outside and is keeping the entire 2200 sq ft older house (@1912) extremely comfortable - with wood which is not particularly well seasoned. I have owned this stove now for two years and continue to be impressed. I give it a 4 rather than a ...

I've owned mine for about 14 months. I heat a 30x30 garage with it. One wall is nearly all garage doors. The stove will flat cook you out of the garage if you keep it running hot. I can't say enough positive things about the stove. If I had to have a complaint I wish the firebox was a touch taller and a touch longer to handle say 20" long longs. If I load it at 10pm, come 8am I'm basically ...

Great stove, pumps out the heat evenly, the glass for the most part stays clean. Loading the logs straight in is great, no rolling out like my last stove. You do not need to remove the stove pipe to clean the chimmney the sections inside the stove seperate. I did a lot of searching and found this by far was the best stove for the money and beyond.

Excellent stove. Load the stove up at 10:00 at night and at 6:00, there is a hot bed of coals. This stove really pumps out the heat also. For a smaller stove, this pumps out as much heat as my mom's stove wthich is a bigger Drolet Sahara. Would have given this all 5's but the air wash system doesn't seem to work. It could be the type of wood i am burning also so I wouldn't put too much weight ...
