Napoleon NPI40 Purchased Aug 2008
Buying this stove was a mistake. When first installed it only ran for 15 minutes and shut off. Tech support said it may be low temp switch. The retailer was no help, so I played with the low temp switch and got it running. Then after one month the convection fan was so loud I had to shut it off. One month later got a new fan and it lasted 3 months and now it's the same thing. It is so annoying. Contacted Napoleon last week & they said it might be because ash was left in old fireplace or I didn't block damper and was too cold.(my fault) Pulled stove out last weekend and there was small amount of pellet dust, nothing significant and damper was blocked sufficiently. Oiled rear convection motor bearing with a few drops of oil and runs fine. To me it appears to be a faulty design. The rear bearing is mounted too close to the stove and over heats, drying out the bearing. Stay away from the NPI40.
