Quadra-Fire Castile
I bought 2 Quadra-Fire Castiles. One works well heating a kitchen and dining room in an ell of the house. The other is in the family room of the main house and gives nothing but trouble. I am constantly finding that it has gone out and the house is getting cold. It needs to be cleaned twice a day or it will go out. The pellets in the hopper go empty on the left side and the stove goes out while the hopper is full on the right side. They didn't feed by gravity. I have to keep putting my hand in the hopper to help them feed. I have turned them both off and gone back to using the oil furnace. The stove in the family room struggled to heat that room only - no way was it heating 1500 sq. ft. It was not cheap burning two stoves either. When I quit early in December I was using two and half bags a day and not keeping warm. Cleaning is a chore especially when you try to take the panels off inside. They don't come apart easily. I burned up a lot of money installing two of them.
