Blaze King Princess Ultra PEJ1006
We live in Nenana, Alaska, and are heating a 1400 sq foot leaky log house. We have been raving about our Blaze King Princess since installing it a month ago. We burn spruce, birch, aspen, and scrap wood. We find the stove performs well with whatever wood we put in it, as long as it is dry. No creosote in the chimney. The stove holds the fire overnight or all day long when we are at work. We have only made two fires from scratch since installing the stove, finding that raking thru the ashes brings up enough coals to quickly build up a new fire, generally five minutes or less. We find the stove burns large split wood with ease, and are surprised when skinny pieces of scrap wood burns in a controlled fashion. The thermostatic air control works perfectly. We like the big flat stove top and find that we always have hot tea water and are doing lots of cooking on the stovetop. Our house is warm to our liking for the first time in years. The Princess is an expensive enough stove, but we feel it was our best purchase of 2008. Easy to use. We follow the directions from the manufacturer to a T. We do have a "stack robber" in our stovepipe; It stays clean, no creosote buildup, and we get extra heat from the flue. We have a 8 inch metalbestos chimney necked down to the 6 inch stove flue and have good draft even with the stack robber. We burn less wood than before, have a warmer house, and now consider our Toyostove to be our backup heat source. A very happy customer!
