Quadra-Fire Mt Vernon AE
Worked great for 2 months last year, was impressed. Saved on oil. This year it ran for a month, the "auto clean" cycle failed, now it can't go to the start up cycle. Called dealer All-Basics Stove shopfor warranty repair, wouldn't send a repairman in the snow, might be a week before they get there. Not the story I got when they took my $4000.00 Poor service, poor attitude.
I wanted to comment about this review. Usually when the auto cleaner is stuck it's because there is a clinker that built up from burning pellets or corn on the bottom of the burn pot. What I do is first unplug the stove and plug it back in to get the cleaning cycle started up. I wait a little bit and watch for the metal bottom of the burn pot to work its way back into position. It will probably get stuck half way. I then start scraping off any built up ash. It usually builds up at the lower half of the burn pot. I then close the glass on the stove to let the metal bottom work its way back into position. Keep repeating until the burn pot gets back into place. This happened just recently and I really had to scrape hard, the ash actually felt like metal. I thought this might help since this probably won't be the first time this happens. I've started scraping the burn pot as a normal routine when I clean the stove weekly.
