Enviro Evolution
This isn't meant to trash the Enviro manufacturer, product or dealer/installer but a description of how things are unfolding.
...After seriously looking at pellet stoves in autumn of 2009, we took the plunge in January of 2010 and returned to Cloyne Ontario to the Hearth and Home store. They carry the Enviro line so we had a second look, and chose a Enviro Evolution pellet stove. On the front page of the brochure, it is promoted as 'one of the quietest pellet stoves made, all you will hear is the pellets drop'.
We paid in advance for delivery and installation. On January 18 2010, Jacob Shiner, owner/operator of Hearth and Home installed the pellet stove and venting equipment. Once it ignited the pellets and the convection fan (blows the warm air into the room), it was excessively loud. Jacob's comment was that we had a big room and it echoed in there. He left saying he would look into the matter. We never heard from him since.
This stove is so loud that we don't use the room or that side of the house for that matter. If we have visitors, we either turn the stove completely off (not recommended to run it with the fan off) or go to another room with a woodstove. Another friend has an older Enviro stove that is much quieter.
In trying to remedy the situation, there have been 2 calls to the manufacturer, two calls to the regional dealer and still no action from Hearth and Home.
In living up to it's promotional literature, the Enviro Evolution is a failure. Service has a 'pass the blame' on down attitude. Service puts the onus on the customer to keep pursuing a solution to the problem.
Meanwhile, the problem continues.
