Hearthstone Bennington
This is my first year using the Hearthstone Bennington. The stove is a beautiful piece of art. I am writing this after starting about 10 fires in it and the current fire has been going for continuously for 7 days. The outside temperature this week has dropped into the teens and not much above freezing. The stove keeps my 2000 sq.ft. house at 67 to 71 degrees. The way the ash pan is designed with it's open back make it easy to empty the ashes while the fire continues to burn. Loading in the side door while the fire is burning will not let smoke in the house. I do not load in the front door except the initial logs. To get the fire started you will have to open the ash pan door for a bit. once the fire is hot there is no problems with the damper. The logs have burned up to 6-8 hours. This week I have not had to restart the fire. The front glass has remained clean and it provides a large clear view of the fire. I am utilizing the fresh air optional vent and the air is drawn directly from outside so there is no drafty cool floor. There is no problem with the draw of the smoke up the chimney. I am satisfied with this WBS. I read the previous reviews after I bought the stove but before I started a fire and was ready to return it if it did not preform, but it does preform very well. This is the second WBS I have had the other was a smaller dutchwest in a much smaller house. The temperature of the Bennington is much more constant and comfortable without spikes of too much heat. So far no problems.
