I purchased this stove from a local company in San Antonio because they were one of the few business that would install the stove. I needed someone who knew what they were doing when cutting into my roof. I only have a heating element furnace and winter months can be very expensive. This is a very basic stove. I burn oak and sometimes mesquite. The winters here are not very severe, so I don't have to "crank it up" too often. Only when the temp. gets below 30. I am happy with it, but if I had to do over again, I would get a larger stove. Only because it would allow you more "room" for getting the temperature up faster. Also, sometimes the wood supplier gets lazy and cuts the wood in pieces over 18". This is not good. You really can't complain too much because they are actually giving you more wood. I burn between 2-3 stacks a season. I don't bother cleaning the glass but once a year during a good overall stove cleaning. I'm heating a "great room" that's 40 x 20. 800 sq feet. It's quite a bit of work but worth the savings to me. It paid for itself after the second winter.

Even using very dry wood, and burning correctly, so the glass door stayed clear, it built up a lot of creosote.
