Review: Pacific Energy Alderlea T4 Classic
Pacific Energy Alderlea T4 Classic
This is the second winter I have used this stove. I really like the looks. However, there are several problems. Fist the cook surface is very small. Not many pans will fit. It is hard to keep it from smoking. Every time you open the door, you will get smoke. The book say that you have to let the coals burn out before empting the ashes. That means you go without heat for a couple of days. The ash dump is pathetic. Ashes build up between the ash dump door and the bottom of the stove. Then the door will not close. I removed the ash dump door and cut a steel plate, put a loop on it and slid it onto the bottom of the fire box. This works a lot better than trying to hold the ash dump door open and then trying to get it to close so you can remove the drawer. I remove the plate with channel lock pliers. The rear of the ash drawer is lower the the front, so if you remove the drawer when full, asheds fall off and build up in the drawer frame and fall out on the floor.
