Review: Avalon Arbor
Avalon Arbor 11 years use
I purchased this stove Oct 2008. I burn two tons of pellets, 100 - 40 lb bags a year every year since purchased. Some pellets have too much ash but I have found one I like and I special order them every year before the heating season. I typically clean the firebox every 10 bags. As the stove clogs with ash the combustion air reaches full on and can't adjust anymore. It' time to disassemble the firebox and give it a good cleaning. I use an ash vacuum. twice a year I clean the pipe with a round pipe brush on the 5' rod section. I have spare igniters and can replace them myself. I learned today about cleaning the flow switch tube to the blower. The ash pan only needs emptied once a year with the good pellets but I do it when I clean the flue pipe.
