Napoleon NPS40
Purchased on Ebay about 8-9 years ago,2008-2009, New for $1400 w/ free shipping. Used 4 tons a year, on install,Disconnected ignitor ,oiled motors, hooked exhaust/intake etc, little fluid on pellets in pot and light. Cleaned well every year and oiled all motors, capped exhaust/intake every spring for storage to prevent bugs/moisture etc. Cleaned on the fly daily, shut off pellet feed, waited 5 mins, exhaust fan still on, hot air fan off, welding gloves on, dump pot daily on to grate, put embers back in pot, scraped insides and glass. Once a week did more of a full cleaning, shutting off for a hour or so, vac insides, outsides, and around it. Gaskets started to fall loose some, used high temp red silicone to re-attach worked good.. We would use about 550+/- gallons oil a year, now just about $1000, few years ago $2100 for oil, used pellet stove al the time for $1000 a year pellets.. Figured we saved over $5000 incl cost of stove and piping etc vs oil. We did not use last year 2015/16 since oil was $1.40-1.85 gal, this year oil was $1.79-1.99 , just burned 8 bags when it was below 15 here for a couple weeks, started right up with no problems, after sitting not used from April 2015- Jan 2017.. Selling now just because its cheaper to use oil, break even price is like $250 a ton pellets VS. $2.50-$2.75 a gallon oil and we are moving this summer. We had zero problems with this stove, would recommend to anyone, like all pellet stoves you really need to keep up on cleaning, oiling and sealing off the elements when not in use, only thing I would add to any stove with a blower would be a replaceable air filter..
