Review: St. Croix Lancaster
St. Croix Lancaster
I've had mine 89 years and have like it. We have burnt corn and pellets. My exhaust is a 4" straight pipe, and I use a straight sraw on my in put. Mine is ona 4 season porch with tile over concrete and the floor keeps warm. Keep it clean, total cleaning once a year and otherwise follow instructions. I have had less than 24 hours down time over these 8 years, 24/7 . Run it on high at least 1 hour a day and then to comfort zone. Good basic product a user can use with confidence. I do have mine on the legs to have heat move freely. I use almost any pellets when going that route. Clean and use. It keeps my 2000+ sqft ranch house warm with the furnace running on a very limited bases. It helps me stay on the frugal side of warm, and air inhouse without a chill. It is a comfort item not my only heat source. We are in Wisconsin and been at 70 degrees all year with all the low temps. My utility bill is as before for my other systems running. This is a unit I can use and work on while enjoying. Some higher end systems take much more maintenance.
