I have had the stove for one year. Burning good hard wood I always have a good bed of coals in the morning or after work for getting the stove going again. It is does a good job heating my 2,200 sqft house located 1 hour south of Montreal. I don't particularly like the lower damper, it has a loud grinding/scraping sound when operated. It seem quite a few people are have combustion issues. I'm wondering is the chimney may be issue. I mention this because my first chimney was triple wall insulated located outside the house. In northern climates this does not work very well. I now have a solid pack chimney that runs through the house which works way better. In fact I don't need to use the bypass damper when starting a new fire. In fact I was worried that I may have to much draft and would need a damper in the stove pipe exiting the stove to help control the burn rate but my system turn out to be very well balanced.
