I’ve been using wood stoves for 50 years and have to say I am very disappointed by this one. It eats up wood and needs to be run full throttle to realize much heat. But even when shut down it goes through wood way too fast. No way to run it through the night. The box is actually much smaller ...

I forgot to mention in my previous review just minutes ago that we purchased the Lopi Leyden wood stove in 2013 and we have just learned that it was pulled off the market in 2012. We were never made aware of this when we purchased it and apparently that's why nobody including Travis Industries ...

I am going to agree with most of the other poor reviews. This stove is a very expensive piece of junk! We have burned with wood stoves all of our lives and we are in our 50's now. In 2013 we bought the Lopi Leyden wood stove and, like a lot of other people, the first-year it worked great. After ...

Have been using for 12 years and would agree with many of the criticisms: small ash pan and less than dynamic heat output compared to my previous Napoleon. Dirtiest stove I've ever owned, don't ever open front door! One plus is 24 inch capability

Have had the QF for 18 years. Never had any problems. I just replaced the door gasket..first one since I've had the stove. I burn Madrone mostly so no creasote build up. Or very little. I would buy this again.

Have had my TN19 since 2011. Very few stoves this shape (why is that?). It loads north south (why would anyone want to load so the logs can tumble out onto the floor? Great stove . . . please continue to make 'em . . . and Thank You. Have had no issues with the damper, it controls the draft well, ...

I live in rural Maine in a very well insulated renovated cape. I have 750 sq ft downstairs and 750 upstairs. I start the stove hot and let it cool down to just inside the low end of the "optimum" range on the thermometer which is where I run it. I heat primarily with heat pumps and use ...

Probable the worst stove I've encountered in my life. It looks much better than it works. I'm guessing before it was required to have a secondary burn system this stove was decent. The secondary burn set up seems like after thought. They made a small firebox even smaller. I get the stove isn't big ...

Heater 'professionally' installed in May 2018 in Perth Western Australia This is a terrible heater, our biggest regret is not researching this more intensely. It emits constant smoke, which our supplier assures us it's just the paint curing (we are now in week 4 of constant heavy use and i can tell ...

Bought the step 4300 in 1999. Start it in October and let it go out in March. We use this the supplement the heat on a 2000 SQ. Foot split level house in Minnesota. This will roast us out of the house if we use one year dried oak on a ten degree day. We have to mix the wood and starve it for ...

I've burned wood for over 6 decades. It is a skill, not a given. You buy the stove, but must develop the skill, it's on you!... These negative reviews, I'm sure they are doing something wrong. Yes, you can overfire a stove in a heartbeat. Burn time depends on wood size, moisture, and quality. My ...

Basically this stove sucks. Growing up with coal and wood stoves, heating with various cheap to moderate priced stoves for 40 years, I decided to get a high priced efficiency stove. Very pleased. It came with the house. The roof had a bad leak while it was on the market for 3 years. The stove had significant rust and I removed a lot of metal due to scaling. I have been using this stove since 2006 and it has been my best stove since burning for the last 38 years. One way I get longer burning hours is to remove the grate and I build my fires on a 2" bed of ash. This adds a few more hours of use and I keep the stove around 400 degrees. I average ...

I don't hae much to compare too since this is the only wood burning appliance I've lived with long term. That said, it has provided excellent heat to my small drafty 100+ year old brick row house in Washington DC. it definitely works best with dense, seasoned wood like oak, cherry, etc. It has ...

Bought this stove in 2014. Learned how to use it, theirs a learning curve. Plus you really should have a good draw. One issue is the lever to shut it down can at times pop back, creating a dangerous over burn that causes damage to the stove, yet a fire hazard when sleeping. After only 2 winter ...
