Avalon Olympic
Review and ratings contributed by sal on Oct 24, 2014

I purchased a ten year old Avalon Olympic two years ago. The stove had been poorly maintained with missing and damaged secondary combustion tubes, broken firebricks, a damaged door gasket and scratches on the exterior. My local Avalon dealer supplied me with the replacement parts and paint as ...

Love this stove. We were looking for a bit of a feature decor stove in our main living room. I didn't need it to heat the whole house or anything... Just looking for something of a conversation piece and to take the edge off our damp winter. People love the look of it and we wound up using it to ...

Dutchwest Cast Iron Extra Large 2462
Review and ratings contributed by Dolf on Oct 18, 2014

I've had the cast iron stove in my basement since 2001. I love my Dutchwest 2462. I run it from Nov - March, its a long cold winter in Michigan. I heats my 2,300 sq ft basement to 75 degrees with plenty of extra heat drifting upstairs to the rest of the house. Keeps my heating bills below $110. ...

We cant use that much, very disappointed. The smoke rolls out when reloading, no way to smother the stove down, down drafts on windy days ( when I need the stove) prevent opening the door. Maybe a bad install. Wish we could use it to, my electric heat pump is expensive. The family room with stove ...

If you are having an issue with this stove, it's not the stoves fault. We have used this stove to heat our showroom for years without fail. The issue is in the person who sold this to you. In reading the problems that the few of you are having, I am able to diagnose almost all of them and they ...

Dutchwest Cast Iron Extra Large 2462

This is a great stove. I have had mine since 1999. I burn far less wood for the same amount of heat as a non-cat stove. To all of those who have problems with this stove: The problem is operator error or your installation and not the stove. You don't just throw an armful of whatever in it, ...

I have used wood stoves my whole life... the Blaze King Princess may not win the miss America contest for looks, but is it by far, the best wood stove I have ever used. I'm so disappointed in this stove. I've burned wood forever and have had better luck with older cheaper stoves. Hard to start, have to keep flue open all the way or fire goes out. Leaves big chunks of charcoal instead of ashes like my others stoves. What a waste of money!

I've owned by Liberty for 4 years. I love it. The fire box is air tight so one can choke off the air to calm the burning rate. The important thing is "dry wood"! For you new bees...you must get cherry, oak, locust, maple, etc., split it and stack it to dry. You must cover the wood to ...

We've had this stove about two years now and overall are quite happy with it. We wanted a stove that would give us an "overnight" burn and it will do that with the proper fuel. Larger pieces of dense, dry wood should give you a long burn. Smaller pieces just go too fast and the firebox ...
