Quadra-Fire Mt Vernon AE
The Mt. Vernon AE is engineered and designed to operate automatically, not only adjusting temperature on the fly but also different settings for user-selectable fuels. The stove will burn corn, standard wood pellets, wheat, or sunflower seeds.
A 7-day programmable thermostat is available that controls room temperature, adjusts heat output, regulates the stove’s autoclean cycle, and monitors built-in diagnostics. Made of cast iron throughout, the Mt. Vernon can burn at over 83% efficiency and provides five manual or automatic heat settings.

Unbelievable, powerful, awsome, i have 1800 sf house and on the coldest days of winter this thing would probally heat my basement also, and make people shed clothes if i wanted, i used to set my thermostat @60 degrees now im very comfortable at 70-72 and the heat feels soo good. The other people here who rated this stove poor must have done the install themselves and did a very poor job. I had the stove installed professionally last year. Very loud blower noise with an annoying "droning" nosie at higher fan blower levels makes it near impossible to hear people talk or the TV in the same room...Burns through a bag of pellets a day.. not what the dealer had said. As a former quad service tech I can tell you this is the best pellet stove on the market. The people who have given bad reviews most likely bought their stoves online and installed themselves. Quadra-fire should re-name this the "Mt. My Ash". I did have it installed by the dealer and spent just over $4000.00 for the unit. I have had the MT Vernon for 3 years, I had some problems at first but I was able to fix the problems. I think the biggest problem with people who have thes stoves is thay do not clean then and do the mainance on them. I purchased a mt vernon about 5 years ago, being very lazy I have done minimal maintenance and have had no problems so far. I have been using this stove for 2 months in eastern Pa. My heat pump only runs about 1/2 hour a day and I'm heating 3000 sq.ft. I have had this stove for just over year. Have had to replace 2 ignitors, new computer board, vacuum switch, max tube sensor and auger jams all the time. Like other reviewers, my stove eats ignitors. When it works, it works great. However, it is sensitive to the quality of the fuel. I use a locally produced hard wood pellet that are labeled premium quality. However, I must select the utility grade setting on the AE to get them to burn efficiently. I owned a QuadraFire 1200 Classic Bay for nine years before taking the plunge with the AE last March. Two things stand out: The autoclean feature is most appreciated, and this stove burns just about ANYTHING.
