Golden Grain Model 1101

Golden Grain Model 1101

The model 1101 corn stove from Golden Grain provides a hopper capacity of 58 lbs and a BTU input range of 13,000 to 40,000. At its low feed rate setting, the stove will burn 1.5 lbs per hour, or 36 lbs over 24 hours. The weight, dimensions, and main features of the Model 1101 are as follows:

  • 25" wide x 25" deep x 32" tall
  • Stove weighs 258 lbs, with a 286 lb shipping weight
  • Feed Rate: 1.5lbs/hr low; 4.4 lbs/hr max
  • Flue size: 3" Type L, PL, or CB double wall vent pipe

All of the Golden Grain corn stoves, including the Model 1101, are equipped with an automatic shut down cycle, which is initiated if the fire goes out or if the stove overheats. All models have positive exhaust systems, making it possible for them to be vented horizontally through an exterior wall. A large circulating blower to maximize heat output turns on automatically only when there is heated air to circulate.

The Golden Grain auger feed system is designed to allow cob pieces and spikes up to 1" in size to pass through without jamming. Window air wash system helps keep the ceramic glass viewing windows clean. All stoves have built-in wipers and clean-outs, which make it easy to maintain high effiency for many years of operation.

I have had my Corn Stove now for 8yrs. and have experience in using this stove. First off I use this model in a 1980sqft home built in 1940, in north east NC. I Love my corn stove it heats the house fine. Sometimes I have to turn it off when we have company. When I installed this I had to go up my current brick chimney which is 20+ feet up. I bought the 4 3'x60' double wall gal/stainless and cap. ...

Pros-- Heats beyond rated BTU, work horse, very well built simple to use, tough, had it for 2 years no break downs. Cons-- Lots more work filling and cleaning, no frills (like auto ignite or self cleaning). If it had these 2 things it would be hands down the best corn stove ever built. Overall this stove takes some work but it delivers the goods in heat and durability. I would recommend it.
