Standing 33-inches tall, 28-inches wide and 30-inches deep, and aesthetically styled to please most homeowners’ design schemes, the 55,000 BTU MaxFire holds more than 100 pounds of corn, allowing round-the-clock operation. Unlike other biomass stoves, after the corn is burned, the patented Burn Pot technology automatically cuts ash residue away every seven to 20 hours, depending on the system settings, and drops it into the stove’s ash drawer for easy emptying.
For customers looking for clean, green and revolutionary ways to stretch dollars or for homeowners looking for an attractive feature, the MaxFire looks like it offers all of the above.

I now have had my stove for about two weeks. It seems to work great, but sometimes touchy, About once a week it just shuts down. Once there was flashing lights, once it just took a break. In both cases, I cleaned out the ash and fired right back up. It does put out a lot of heat! I have been burning pellets and this is my first stove. I don't like the fact that the factory does not answer emails. ...Overall Performance:

I bought three Maxfires last fall. I have used both a Harman PC45 and a Quadrafire AE for one season before buying the Max Fire 115. Once you get the settings done the Bixby runs great and puts out consistant heat. I like the way you can program it to suit your specific needs using Bixcheck and my own computer to adjust the software or update to a newer software. The settings are fairly easy just ...Overall Performance:

I'm constantly messing with the settings. I am burning wood pellets. If I set it at 0-0 then it barely burns at all. As soon as more pellets drop in, it all but puts the fire out. If I crank it as high as the feed rate will go then I get a huge orange flame, but it burns real black. I love the stove for its efficiency, I'm just tired of black soot on my house and constanly messing with the ...Overall Performance:

We have had our stove for about a week and a half. Love it! Heats the whole house, but then again we have a 1300 sq ft home, 2 level home and basement. I burn corn, I really think this would solve a lot of people's problems that I am reading about. (Soot on the siding and all.) Corn burns so clean that there is no smoke outside at all, and we are getting a consistent burn and heat.I ...

I am writing this comment in ref: to the Bixby wood/corn pellet stove (specifically Bixby Wood Corn stove Serial # 6478) due to the poor quality of construction and Bixby’s failure to adequately service this defective stove.I purchased this stove approximately 1.5 years ago ( cost , just under $5,000 installed) and as of that time, I have experienced two (2) major failures.

I have had this Bixby maxfire for about two months and my brother has had one for 3 years. He has averaged about $550 dollars for the whole heating season the last three years. I am right on track with that having spent $600 for pellets and corn and will have enough to last this heating season. This stove is everthing and more than what they say it is. The first 2 weeks are frustrating hang ...Overall Performance:

If you are thinking about a corn stove, do not waste your money on a Bixby. We are going into our third year and we have had nothing but trouble. Every thing that can be replaced has been replaced. The closest dealer is in another state and charges us ninety dollars a visit. This stove has not worked right since the day they hauled it in here. It still has a warranty, but just try to contact ...Overall Performance:

We are going into our third heating season using our Bixby stove. The first year it burned well using wood pellets bought at Home Depot but jammed frequently because of the length of the pellets. The following year we bought our pellets from our dealer who had contacted a company and requested they cut the pellets as short as possible. We didn't have more than one or two jams but the stove ...Overall Performance:

For those of you that are reviewing this stove after only two weeks of use...GOOD LUCK! I bought THE FIRST stove out of the Rogers, MN warehouse (serial # 0001), no kidding. All works pretty good for about 2 years, then every thing starts breaking or rusting out. They keep changing things but the Quality of the parts used is good for about 2 seasons. You better figure out what makes it work because the company can't be of much help. Dealers only last 4 or 5 years and then they stop handling them. Don't wast your money on a stove with a three year life span. If the ...Overall Performance:

Well where do I begin my complaints about this company. They seem to have an issue with their stoves and no it, but they try to mask it by eliminating their current product and then move it up into a so-called newer model. I can only tell you that if you are smart about your money, then do not waste it on this product or company. I wrote in before about this piece of junk sitting in my living room. A dealer came, had his lap top plugged in for an hour & half, reset the knobs, charged us seventy dollars & left. Poor Product overall. This stove works great when running but will not last very long. The design is a good idea but needs many more year of perfection to make it a viable option to other pellet stove which are much more reliable.Purchased mine on ebay oct 2008 for around $2000. Wow what a hunk of junk. Not to mention the customer service you get from this so called company. Obviously when this guy ran Select Comfort and was so great. He started Bixby Energy. Reading the manual and troubleshooting the various "blinking light" signals helps. You have to spend some time on it to become familiar with it.If the stove is maintained, cleaned regularly, right pellets (corn versus wood), it's a great stove.

I was the dealer who was responsible for Bixby putting the Warranty disclaimer on it's home page. Years ago Bixby made me an offer of new stoves for $1,500.00 and they would drop ship from their plant. They claimed to have a 1,000 in stock and needed to move them. I sold 13 on e-bay at $1,650 plus shipping. They made this offer to all Bixby dealers. Boy, were other dealers mad at me and ...
